I can't believe this year is over!  What a great joy it has been to teach these kids unexpectedly.  Every day was fun and filled with learning.  I will truly miss them.

Our summer birthday ice cream celebration will be this Tuesday at 2:45.  Any parent with a summer birthday student is welcome to join us as we celebrate your child.

On Wednesday we have our annual BBQ lunch outside for kids and any parents who wish to join. The kids get to eat outside at picnic tables and have ice cream for dessert.  This is the afternoon that we will be cleaning out our desks and supplies, so please send a sack for your child to bring things home in.

Thanks again for a terrific year.  I hope you have a fun-filled summer!

It's hard to believe, but there are only six weeks left of school.  What??  I'm always amazed at how quickly a school year seems to fly by.  I've added links on the sidebar to the animal project handout just in case you need to reference it and can't find yours.  The school concert is coming right up on May 15th.  I'm also working on an end of year field trip that I will let you know more about soon.

I hope all of you had a terrific spring break.  We sure did.  I read five books, walked on the beach, and did a lot of relaxing with my family.  The spelling list page is updated.  Please remember that the book report is due on Thursday.  You can download the form right here off the website.  There's no school on Friday in order to observe Good Friday and prepare for Easter.  Happy Easter to all of you!

The week is off to a great start. Please look for your student's AR score that I will be sending home on Friday.  If they have less than 20 points they NEED to read over spring break!  Not acquiring 25 points by the end of the quarter on April 10th will lower the final grade in reading.  Please see me if you need book suggestions or help.  Our trip to Doris Ranch is Friday.  Please send a sack lunch and a snack with you child.  Pray for sun!

Wow- spring has come early!  Isn't the weather amazing? As we move into the second week of March I'm reminded how fast a school year seems to zoom by.  In two weeks it's spring break and then we're already into April.  We've got our field trip to Doris Ranch coming up soon.  Please remember to turn in your student's $4 and permission slip by next Monday.  Thank you!

Another week come and gone and now we're closing in on the end of February and welcoming March!....I'm so excited about it.  We've been so blessed with amazing weather lately, it's hard to remember that it's still winter, isn't it?  We built and launched our rockets this past week.  It was fun and I think we learned a lot about how good ideas need to be tested to see if they will work.  We didn't have any rockets that successfully launched but I know if we did it again, the kids would make changes to their designs and we would see some successes.  Several of you have asked about this quarter's book report- it will be due on April 2nd.  I'm looking forward to a great week!

I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend.  We wrapped up the end of the quarter and most of us were glad to move on to new things and wrap up some units we've been working on.  We finished reading Brian's Winter (great book!) and we will begin a new novel later this week.  Our special chapel/Grandparent's Day/and Valentine party will all be on February 13th.  I will put a sign up sheet outside our door for parents who would like to bring party treats.  Remember that our boxes for Womenspace are due on Wednesday, Feb.11th.  In science we are going to do a fun STEM unit that will involve engineering and launching rockets.  Be sure to ask your student about it.  See you soon!
